Supporting Families, One Workshop at a Time
Back in March, I wrote about how proud I was to donate over $2,300 in goods to Mamas for Mamas (if you missed that story, feel free to read my original blog post). At the time, my heart was full, and now, months later, I’m even more inspired by what community support can do.
Giving back has always been at the center of my work as a doula. The joy I felt making that donation has only grown as my relationship with Mamas for Mamas deepened. Together, we turned that initial spark of generosity into something that goes much further: a series of hands-on, supportive workshops for families navigating pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood.

I had the honor of delivering four free workshops for Mamas for Mamas families over June of this year! Each one was shaped by years of experience and genuine care, designed to help parents feel more confident on their unique journey. I’m excited to share the recordings with you, and if you’re interested in learning more about my services, just reach out and let’s chat.
What We Covered
Week 1: Labor and Delivery Prep
I walked families through what to expect as they approach labor, from signs of early labor to understanding comfort measures and making informed choices. I wanted everyone to leave feeling ready for whatever their birth story might bring.
Week 2: Postpartum Care
We talked honestly about recovery, healing, and what that “fourth trimester” can actually feel like. Sharing tips for both physical and emotional wellness gives parents permission to care for themselves (not just baby).
Week 3: Newborn Basics
So many questions come up in those first days at home. We covered baby cues, sleeping and feeding, and calm ways to build confidence, even in the face of exhaustion and newness.
Week 4: Car Seat Safety
As a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, I know safe travels start right at the hospital doors. This part of the workshop helped families understand Canadian car seat and booster seat safety—demystifying regulations and real-life best practices for every stage.
Why This Work Matters
To me, these workshops are a natural extension of what I wrote about after our donation. The essentials we gave will last for months, but skills and knowledge last a lifetime, and ripple out into every family these parents touch. Having a supportive community resource like Mamas for Mamas makes it possible for all of us to learn, grow, and give our children the best start possible.
